About the Author

My name is Adam, and I am a Michigan transplant living in the foothills of the North Cascades. I’ve lived here since 2003, and have hopped around the North Sound from Seattle to Bellingham to Darrington to my current abode in Arlington located in Snohomish County. I have a beautiful wife, Alexandra, as well as one 2 year old son, Corbin, and a 1 year old daughter, Zoa. I work full-time at a company that would probably rather not be named helping to connect the deaf and hearing worlds.

I’m also a full-time student, pursuing a degree in Environmental Policy. I practice (poorly) Rinzai-flavored Zen Buddhism, I home brew, I go for walks with my family and generally keep things fairly low-key when I’m not at work or doing homework. I’m also an amateur photographer. You can see some of my work here as well as my and my wife’s photography business page here.

I’ve been interested in politics for years, but it is only recently that deep ecology and other influences started to shape my present outlook. After living here for 8 years, I’ve finally made it a priority to do more hiking, get to know the salmon and the trees and be more locally ecologically in-tuned.

I’ve always loved writing as an art form, and so I began blogging a few years ago, mostly just Buddhist-flavored blogs, but I’ve left all those behind to focus on this blog. I hope you enjoy.

Cheers.

  1. Hi Adam,
I saw you just closed down your other site. I really enjoyed reading what you were writing.

I just launched a free / non profit website on which people can share their meditation practices and offer testimonials of how mindfulness has changed their lives. Please have a look at the about page of the site, I have posted a video in which I explain more about the site and it’s mission.

    http://gomindful.com/about/

I’m absolutely no guru and have no commercial interest in all of this. I simply think a site like this can help a lot of people to get into mindfulness and meditation way easier and learn from each other. The first few users really like this as well.

I try to reach out to people because only with users the site will live up to its full potential. I was hoping you could mention gomindful.com to the readers of your other blog, but I understand if you do not want to write about this anymore. Anyway, maybe you simply come over and share your own experiences. :)

All the best and stay mindful!
    Jay
